Have a Wonderful Thursday. (I so thought it was Wednesday... it's definitely summer break when you don't know what the date is!)
I have a day planned out, woo!
Vox was down last night, and by the time it got back up I didn't feel like posting a Things on Tuesday post. Hence, Things on Wednesday (and, well, Tuesday as well).
Loathed:
- Cold temperatures in sunny weather (this was yesterday, today's way better).
- Working from 2-8. Training at night.
- I don't have a job for the summer. Which means, I'm searching for one. The deadline for substitute teachers for summer school is tomorrow, unfortunately, and I won't be able to turn in everything and go to the all-day training day by tomorrow. I've already searched a couple of jobs down at the oceanfront. Maybe I can get a summer job at the beach as a waitress or hostess.
- I ate a little of Ben & Jerry's. Have you seen these cute mini ice creams available at the grocery store? So cute.
- Drawmything on iminlikewithyou.com!
- Began the last season of Gilmore Girls!
Sookie: We are the champions - my friends And we'll keep on fighting - till the end - We are the champions - We are the champions! No time for losers... Oh! I'm a fantastic arm wrestler. You know what I think did it? Whisking! All these years of whisking has given me incredible forearm strength. People are always like why take the time to handwhip fresh cream? And I've always been like I don't know why I do it, it's just something I do. But now I know , because I've been training for this day. I mean, Wow! I am strong. And the omelette flipping definitely is part of it. You know when you use one of those really heavy cast iron skillets and you 'flip, flip.' I mean, that's all in the wrist you know? And that's what they say, you know, that's what people say about arm wrestling too, that it's all in the wrist, and Man I have super bionic super power super wrists! I mean who knew I posessed such...Honey? Something's wrong huh?
Lorelai: Yeah.
Rory: Hey, maybe it's code, like, I'm his Rock-Et, right, like I'm his Rock-E.T. I'm his Rock in the Eastern Time Zone!
Lorelai: [softly] That's dumb.
Rory: Yeah like rocket gum is sweeping the nation.
Lorelai: When I have made 1 Zillion dollars from my rocket gum invention you will eat those words! Or rather you will chew those words and blow a bubble with them.
- Had my Substitute teacher orientation today. I'm going to be a sub starting next public school year!
- The Roofers are DONE!
- New Super Mario Bros on DS!
I smell with my nose.
I hear with my ears.
I touch with my skin.
I hope everyone had a happy mother's day. We went to my mom's favorite restaurant: Silver Diner. We ordered all the same: Top Hat Burgers. I haven't had anything fried or deliciously soaked in fat in about a month, so hell yeah I enjoyed it. Today, though, it's back to healthy. Moderation is hard. I haven't finished my chocolate cake piece, but I'm determined to keep it as long as I can without any funky stuff growing on it. I'm slowly but surely losing weight, and I don't want to stop that habit just yet.
Happy Monday, voxers. Stay dry and warm.
510:
Today's date, of course! May 10th. Understand how this post is written? Let's move on.
1:
One is for the amount of creme brulee I consumed yesterday. I love cracking open the sugared shell top and eating it right out of the oven! My mom made some yesterday, and it's delicious!
2:
Two is for the number of days I've been on summer vacation! My last exam was this past Thursday and my GPA stayed the same. My grades kind of sucked this semester, but who the hell cares about GPA? It's not like, at a job interview, they ask for your GPA. It's kind of a goal for myself, I suppose.
4:
Four is for the number of days the Roofers have been at my house. It sounds like they're shooting canons on the top of the roof. Their canon-like alarm clock wakes me up at 8 in the freakin' morning. If it hadn't been raining, they'd be finished by now!
Four also stands for the amount of sleep (in hours) I had last night and another night earlier this week. I learned my lesson: no more diet pepsi
5:
Five is for the amount of pounds I've lost this month. The scale told me six pounds this morning, but weight fluctuates and I know that 6th pound isn't official, yet. I'm eating less meat and more seafood (especially for dinner---I've been having fish, brown rice, and veggies). Very healthy and light. It works. And I'm feeling so good! I can't wait to lose more. Gym tomorrow!
10:
Ten is for the auditorium number I watched Iron Man in tonight! Amazing movie, wonderful picture, and awesome music. I give Iron Man three thumbs up (because, well, three thumbs would be extraordinary...)
Ten also stands for ten fingers: I got a manicure today and had my nails painted red!
29:
Twenty-nine is the page number la femme opening reception advertisement is featured in
59:
Actually, 5/9 stands for the date I drew this sketch of a lovely mansion found through flickr photos. It's fun practicing, you know? I'm especially obsessed with finding beautiful photos on flickr and sketching them into my moleskine.
60:
Sixty is an approximate number of minutes I spent playing MarioKart with my buddy. And then I played Mario Galaxy. The Wii is super fun. Someone needs to buy me it... >.>
1119:
1119 stands for 11:19pm. I'm ready to go to bed; I keep dozing!
Have a good Mother's day, everyone <3
I slept in til 8a after staying up late catching up on school work. I'm usually up at 7a, but this morning I couldn't handle it. The texting became sort-of an alarm, which was good because at 8:10a we had visitors.
Who was our expected, yet undesired visitor this morning? --The roofers. Yes, that's right. Two older men came in just past eight and began to work on our roof. And can you guess where they decided to set their ladder up? That's right, apparently my side of the house is the popular part, and theyslammed the ladder on right outside my window and proceeded up to the roof. And they have very heavy feet for there was a TON of stomping! Geeh, thanks for telling me I need to get up! -_- All day I've been hearing foot stomps until this afternoon at about 3ish when another truck came with loads of...shingles? Anyway, that's when the louder pounding began. They slammed the packs of shingles on the roof making the glasses in the china cabinet rattle!!Miko was so scared today, she kept going under Jeff's bunkbed and under my desk (in front of my chair/feet)! It was way cute.
I left just past 3 because I couldn't stand the pounding anymore. I went on campus and sold my books for a measly $169.50. I'm not complaining, and I know I can get more if I sold them online, but this was way more convenient. I had to go to Financial Aid, blahblahblah and it was just pass 4 by the time I left ODU. Guess what I caught?
Traffic. That's right. I was stuck in traffic! Luckily I had a text chat with Ryan (thanks dooode!) while stuck. My iPod's been dead for several days (couple weeks, actually) so I was forced to listen to the radio.
Le sigh. After traffic and trips to Office Max and Barnes & Nobles, I am now home. I am not going to the gym today because I'm awful tired, but I will make it up the rest of the week! The rest of the week I will be vegetarian, walk an hour a day on non-gym days (Thurs and Sat). I'll feel better if I do so.
Anyway, I'm exhausted and I need some dinner. Have a good Wednesday night! I have to finish up more school work and then I'm going to watch Gossip Girl! Shh! Don't give anything away because I already know Jenny's boyfriend is gay!!!
Tomorrow's my last final exam! Then summa vaca!
I want to step in Hot Topic just to buy that sticker! And I never go inside Hot Topic!
- I had a final exam at 4:20 this afternoon. I left 50 minutes early enough to get to class, relax, and study a bit before the exam. Unfortunately when I was in Norfolk -about 15 minutes away- I realized that I forgot my Sanrio pencil/pen pouch. Perfect, right? I'm going to an exam without any writing utensils. Where was my mind? That's when I started to panic. I raced to campus hitting every damn red light in the universe.
- Moreover, I forgot to do an assignment that was due tonight; I emailed my professor it when I got home...
- Don't ask how I did on my final.
- I feel deprived without my Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill episodes. I shall watch after this post.
- Lo is being so low (pun intended). I'm talking about The Hills; can Lo be more insensitive? I know exactly how Audrina feels, and it's no fun.
- So much work to do, and I don't have any caffeine to keep me up tonight.
- I resisted Starbucks.
- I haven't had anything fried in a month.
- I'm freaking out.
- So fat--freakin' muffin top.
- Argh.
- I'm irritated right now. Been all day.
- Jeff ate my leftover salad and the rest of my rice cakes.
- We have guys coming tomorrow to work on our roof. How many days will that take? Boy, I'm going to be completely annoyed and irritated tomorrow.
Loved:
- I reached the bookstore, bought a pack of Bic mechanical pencils, and got to class with time to spare!
- Sketching. I really love searching for photos on flickr and sketching them in my moleskine regardless if it's good or not.
- MTV posts the newest episode of The Hills the next day. I watched last night's episode this morning during breakfast.
- Our new garage door.
- Gilmore Girls. I love that show. I'm on season 5 right now. I just finished watching the episode where Martha, Davey, & Jackson got baptized.
- About to watch last night's One Tree Hill episode.
- One more final and then SUMMA VACA!
- Yael Naim's New Soul:
So, what has Barbz been doing?
I haven't been updating every day like I used to; I'm lucky to update a couple times a week. To be honest, nothing really has been happening. I have a ton of school crap to do, but I've hardly touched it this weekend. I did go to the gym today and I studied for my Tuesday final (some-what). Shrugs. So over the semester. My summer vacation begins this Thursday evening.
However, I've been drawing a surplus-amount!
And, I've been eating healthier. I don't think I lost any weight this week because I skipped going to the gym once and I ate too much junkshit. I'm back on my game, again. I've just been so... unmotivated to exercise; what's the point in pushing yourself to the extreme when nothing changes? I know, I've lost four pounds, woopdeefreakindooo.
Yawn. I've also been going to bed at 10/11 at night and waking up 7ish. I like that routine; I'm an early bird.
Yawn. I also found out that I have 45 hours of personal leave!! Right at the end of the school year when I'm finding a new job I receive a notice stating that! Perfect timing--dontchathink???
Yawn. Good night, voxer folks.
I am in love with this dress... like, for the past two years... it's so mine when I get married in a bazillion years.
After class, I dragged my mom with me to The Fresh Market. I love The Fresh Market---just walking around in my slacks and matching cute top made me feel important (oh, that sounds pathetic). The coffee area by the produce section is one of my favorite aisles; it's on the opposite side of the jars of candy, and the smell of coffee railed me in. I couldn't help it, I had to buy Kona coffee. I had a cup last night *coughcough* and I swear, my head felt like it wanted to float off me. Screw Redbull---Kona coffee gives you wings! Srsly. There's liquor or something in it that makes me feel so damn good. As for the Bourbon Praline Pecans, my nose unclogged after eating a few. The taste of bourbon with sweets goes perfectly together.
My weekend is planned. My friend's son turns one on Sunday, but the party won't be for another couple of weeks. I have two finals next week and a huge load of school work I need to make-up (because of my lazy ass). So I'll be doing that this weekend. Classes are over, and my semester officially ends next week Thursday (night). I don't know what I'll be doing this summer, but I do know I have to study study study to pass an exam. I hope I can work in the summer as a substitute teacher. If so, I'll get paid more and working more so I can save up for a Macbook Pro, a Wacom Tablet, and a Wii. That's a shit-load of money. Haha. But if I work hard and save my money up, I'll be able to. I won't buy them all at once, but yeah. And hopefully I'll open up an etsy shop for extra cash, I really want to get crafty again....
I woke up in the wee-morning at 6:51 AM, took a shower, got dressed, colored on mascara, skipped breakfast, and sped off to campus. (There was SO much parking) Anyway, I met my group at 9 AM to discuss the last minute details before our presentation tomorrow morning. Figures, that slacker in our group didn't show. What did we do? We assigned her nothing. Tomorrow, when we present, she is going to stand up in front of the class with us NOT SAYING A WORD. She's lucky we're letting her stand up there with us when she did jackshit for the project. Whateverrrr.
After our meeting, I drove back to my city and stopped by Target where I bought some cheddar rice cakes and 27 Dresses. Woohoo. Such a cute DVD case!
I got so much school work done today it's not even funny. I worked so hard. Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to go to the gym because I was way too busy. I had to do a lot of school work today before my training/work tonight. And -don't be mad- I had papa john's for dinner. TWO SLICES. Typical college student---right? Cramming in last minute school work and pizza---srsly. But I had so much to do and I didn't care about anything else! Tomorrow I will be back to my healthier eating, but just let me finish this mocha frappuccino light.
Training was fun. We did a number of games, but the majority of the night was dedicated to Speed Stack. What's speed stack you ask? Well, check out this YouTube video:
I made one more unhealthy stop at Super-Starbucks (drive-thru) before heading home. I asked the lady if I could have a decaf frappuccino, and she said yes. But when I asked for a Tall Mocha Frappuccino Light--decaf, she said I couldn't have decaf with a light drink. Boo. I choose to get the light over decaf because of the fewer calories >.> When I rolled up to the counter, a tall blonde guy was there. I haven't been to Super-Starbucks in weeks, and I didn't recognize him. Did a little bit of flirting >.> He asked me this silly question as he handed me the recipet, "They make me say it." He leaned down and said that I should have gotten a decaf. I told him I tried and knew I won't be sleeping tonight. He asked what time I had to be up and I said 7, "That's not early---I had to wake up at 3!" I told him at least he has coffee and he goes, "I don't drink coffee, I like the creme-blended drinks." Haha. Oh, dear. I did a lot of shameless flirting tonight.
Anyway! I'm home now. Wide awake and in such a good mood.
Oh, did I tell you? I lost four pounds. Hellzyeah. I hope I didn't gain it back after two slices of pizza and a tall mocha frappuccino light...
PS: I have orientation to become a substitute teacher next month! New job soon :o]
