My morning at the museum.

I have so many photos like these from the MoMA. I absolutely LOVED it, but I've always been a modern art aficionado. Welcome to the club! There's lots to be said for the freedom of artistic expression and destruction of traditional creative boundaries that modern art espouses. I would love to visit the Chrysler someday!
Oy. The one and only time I went to an art museum, I nearly died of boredom. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love art (and had I gone with friends, and actually WANTED to be there - we were there for a "field trip" when MUN visited NYC), I might have actually enjoyed myself. But I was sick, jet-lagged out the you-know-what, and really just wanted to jump off from the nearest high-rise tower.

Maybe I would enjoy it if I went with you. But overall, I enjoy science museums much more.
i've never ever heard you talk about teaching the way you just described your day at the museum. Yeah, you've taken a lot of teaching classes already, but you've got a passion for art. To that I ask you, why are you not following your passion? Why are you not doing what makes you the happiest?
MoMA is fun, huh? It's so much bigger and so much better than the Chrysler, but yes you'd have a lot of fun at the Chrysler as well :o) Hooray for art lovers of the world.
Oooh science museums are awesome as well, I agree! It depends on the art museum; the art museum we have down by the beach that shows contemporary art just... sucks. It's small and I wasn't a fan of the work (well, one or two paintings I enjoyed). I guess any museum depends on how awesome it is.. haha. I'm dying to go to The Body Exhibit, though. Didn't you go to it? Oh, I'm super interested in that :o)
That's what I'm debating, Venika. My passion for teaching wasn't really there. When I began college, I was so certain on this teaching gig. I had zero doubts and zero hesitation. But the more higher level classes I took, the more I began to realize I'm not interested in teaching anymore. Sure, I love children; sure, I can see myself as a Kindergarten teacher. But for the past year or so I've changed. I never knew I liked art this much until now. I'm not doing what makes me happy, and I know that I need to stop. I need to be happy.

I just want to finish this one class, which means I need to get a passing score on this test. Just one more class for this half-ass of a bachelor's degree. After this last class I am going to study Studio Art and look into advertising as an Art Director. I'm trying, Venika. I just wish I had the support of my mom; I wish she knew that being happy is much more important than anything else. I don't know why she doesn't understand that.

As long as I have the support of my friends, which I think I'm messing up right now because I never hang out with them, and as long as I have the support of myself... I should be okay. I will be.
Oh I love art museums! I recently went to the Museum of Latin American Art and I visited the Ghetty in LA a year ago.

Viewing all the artwork is so mesmerizing. :)

Thanks for sharing Barbs, those are some pretty awesome pics.

(I feel more cultured now :)
Awesome pics! A good choice to relax after your exam! :D

Hooray for another art museum lover :o) I'd love to check out as many museums as possible; oh I'm sure there are a ton in LA I'd fall in love with!

You're very welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed it :o)
Mhmm. I planned it that way :o)
Lovely. I like the ones with lots of color.
Yay, so you finally went! Good for you. Nice pieces you photographed. I really like that last photo and what I think are two coffee cups making out? haha. That's awesome. I'd want that on my wall. And I really dig that first piece with that streak of light, amazing. Thanks for sharing, doll. <3
I love the color too :o)
Heh, yes! I finally went! I wanted to photograph more, but I always feel like I shouldn't be photographing the pieces (even though it's okay to). When I was entering a new room, this a security guard popped up right in front of me! Hahaha. I even put my hand up to my chest when I gasped. Ha.. anyway. The coffee cups do look like they're swapping spit... haha! And that streak of light is amazing, I agree. I'm glad you enjoyed <3!
that's so cool :)

I love going to art museums! <3

Those art pieces have amazing colours..
oh i love it:).....makes me feel more relaxed:). Yayyyy!
i love arts museums, but there's no1 that i know that enjoys them !

great stuff there!
Great pics Barbz, used to be a bit iffy about modern art myself, but slowly coming around.
The art really is :o) I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Yay! I love the colors, too; I'm a huge fan of color. I'm glad you enjoyed it :o)
Hehe... good :o)
Hehe. Well I love art museums! We'll have to go to one some day :o)
I think it was more that I didn't like the modern art I was viewing when I said I didn't like modern art. But, I'm really appreciative of them now; I love modern art!
i so love the gallery! r you allowed to take photos inside?? lucky!!!

xoxoxo
Hehe, yup, you're allowed to take photos inside the museum. But I always feel like I'm breaking the law or something.
I know you're trying and its good to see that you realized that your happiness is important. If you're mom doesn't understand you know, she will. Once she sees how happy you're going to be, she'll understand. She's just looking at things the same way you were when you started your degree. And just because you're taking time for yourself, doesn't mean your friends dont support. Even if they dont, you know you have Jules and you have me! We know what you're going through, and you know we'll be there to support your wholeheartedly. We're both just a phone call or short plane ride (in my case) away!

<3 I really love that I have you and Jules as friends. It really sucks that we're all on different parts of the states (doode, we're totally in war-mode, we can take over the US.. just need someone in texas...) Anyway, even though we're all far apart from each other, it's great to know that you two are still there. And vice versa for all of us :o)

My mom is supporting me; she wants me to get this degree... first of all, I'm on a free ride. I have until 26 (a few semesters left, actually) for this free ride. She wants me to take advantage and get my masters (so that it's free...) Which I understand completely... And she is supporting me; if I want to go back for Studio Art: she says okay! So.. yeah.

I have realized what makes me happy, and that's good. I just hope I can be with mr. prince charming one day... teheh

<3 ya!

I love art museums. I have yet to go to the MoMa, but the Met absolutely changed my life.

And I don't know if I ever told you, but I love your little drawings. Seriously, I do.
Ooh, you'll enjoy MoMa!! I really really really want to go to the Met some day :o)

& thank you<3
