As a former Navy brat, I've lived on the coast of many different cities. I've always lived within a half an hour from a beach. And I don't think I ever want to move away from the coasts; I think I'd feel lost without having the beach nearby. I don't see the appeal of Virginia Beach as a tourist spot, but we get plenty. And I absolutely know why they come here---the beach is wonderful.
Walked on the strip, boardwalk, and the beach tonight with a couple bests. And I took a zillion photos because, well, it's me. And, I got a tall caramel frappuccino for the first time in a month.
My aunt and uncle went strawberry picking this morning, and brought back some strawberries for us!
Enjoy.
Happy Saturday Night.
We've been getting out of training/work yesterday and today early, but getting paid for the entire time! Woo! After work today, my friend and I went to Animal Jungle. There's a huge selection from fish to reptiles to birds to cute chinchillas for sale (and some not for sale). It's kind of like a free mini-zoo and aquarium. I didn't know if I was allowed to take photos so I got a few and recorded a few animals.
Enjoy!
& it's a lovely day out, I think I'm going to go for a bike ride in about an hour or two (once it cools off a little outside...) Have a good Thursday, ya'll!
- Semi-bored in the beginning of the day. Jay saved me and suggested I take a trip over to Dairy Queen. So, on I went to get a pecan parfait for me and a chocolate shake for the pops.
- I'm so thirsty >.< I need more ice water.
- I rode my bike for not even a half an hour, and I was exhausted. I swear, I was huffing and I'm sure my face was red as a strawberry. Not to mention the headache! I guess it was a combination of my chucky body and heat. I really need my kid energy back.
- My butt is also a bit sore from the bike seat. I either need to get padding for the seat or for my butt. (That's a joke...)
- I won't be posting much the next few days. I have training Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30a-5:00p-ish. All day. Oh-em-gee!
- I figured out that I need to step up my game and lose 35 pounds! I've lost five, but more is better.
- I got a new bike! The brother came with me to help me get my bike. I wanted the red and white bike, but they were sold out at the two Targets we visited. I settled for the same body but different color. Blue and silver look pretty fine together. Haha.
- Began watching season 1 of One Tree Hill. Ohmygosh do they all look young! Nathan and Lucas looked pretty small too... they were ripped with hot bodies, but their bodies now are way better. Ahem, excuse me.
- Finished the first package of felt pouches. I'm going to send them off to a few lucky folks, and all I ask in return is feedback! Both the good and the bad. I don't have a summer job, so maybe I can make a few extra moola from Etsy---but only if the product is worth selling.
- Pecan Parfait from Dairy Queen.
- Mom said I lost a little weight. And, mom is BLUNT and honest, so that means something!
Oh! And go out and enjoy the beautiful weather; ride a bike. Let's begin a bike club >.>
It's the same old fair stuff in each state. Farm animals, local art and crafts for sale, carnival rides, etc. I've never been to Pungo's Strawberry Festival, and I was expecting tons and tons of strawberries. To my dismay, there were hardly any strawberry-related activities. My friends and I stayed for about an hour and then we went to the mall where we stopped by Sanrio and CPK.
Nonetheless, it was quite fun and we enjoyed ourselves.
I went with some friends to North Carolina today. We left early this morning and we rode two hours there (and two hours back) to a town with very little signal and southern accents. They roasted a pig over the fire and we had a picnic. Fun, fun times. A tradition every year. It was nice to get away from Virginia---even for just a day. Here are a few pictures.
